HYDERABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (N) general secretary for Sindh Senator Nihal Hashmi has criticized the Sindh government for being ruled from Dubai.
He advised Asif Ali Zardari to make Dubai as the permanent capital of Sindh. He said it is right time for people of Sindh to stop PPP ruling over them from outside the country and they should also deny PPP getting their votes any more in the names of Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
Talking to media here on Sunday, Nihal Hashmi said PPP’s rule in the last eight years in Sindh has ruined cities like Hyderabad — once Paris of Sindh – and made it Moenjodaro.
He said everything in Sindh is sold — from jobs to contracts and postings of officers. No major development work has been carried out during the last eight years, he added.
Nihal said after Eid ul Azha almost all roads and streets of Hyderabad are full of heaps of filth and effluent of sacrificial animals, which shows the indifference of the provincial government toward problems of citizens. He said rubbish and remains of sacrificial animals have been put into Phuleli canal, making its water polluted. He said Phuleli canal flows from Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad and Badin districts where millions of people will be compelled to drink this brackish water.
Nihal said the nullahs of the city are also overflowing. He said the situation of governance in the province has gone worse as even IG was kept unaware of the arrest of Sindh Assembly’s leader of opposition.
He also took exception of Dharnas of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri and stated at the time when Nawaz Sharif is going to UNO to raise the issue of Indian atrocities on Kashmiris both Imran and Qadri instead of joining his hands are opposing his move by saying that Nawaz Sharif was going for shopping. He asked both to take pity on the plight of Kashmiris. He assured that Nawaz Sharif will soon pay a visit to Hyderabad and announce a development package for the city.
