ISLAMABAD: The government has changed the schedule of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s visit to Germany to avert another constitutional crisis in the country. Now Sadiq would leave for Germany after Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani returns home from a foreign visit and takes charge as acting president of the country, sources told Daily Times. The government postponed Sadiq’s visit to Germany a day after Daily Times published a report warning of another constitutional crisis in the country. Sadiq, who is working as acting president in the absence of President Mamnoon Hussain and Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani, had to leave for Germany on Sunday evening. A parliamentary delegation has already left, but Sadiq’s visit has been postponed until Monday morning, when Rabbani returns home. The Senate chairman is coming back from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah late on Sunday night and he would resume his duties as acting president from Monday, sources said. “How can I leave the country when no one is available in my place to take the charge of acting president? I know the Senate chairman is coming back, so I am waiting for him. Once he returns home, I will leave for Germany and there will be no constitutional crisis at all,” Sadiq told Daily Times.
